Julian works across our portfolio
of projects. He specialises in auditorium design, brief writing and concept development. His background in urban masterplanning allows him to place concepts in their wider physical and cultural contexts. His first theatre was the
Donmar Warehouse, for Sam Mendes.
He has gone on to contribute to many of the teams projects, notably
Sadler's Wells and the new
Northern Stage.

"For me, Platanov, an early Chekhov play, performed by the Maly Drama Theatre of St Petersburg captured the heart of the human condition.
An astonishing ensemble piece, generous spirited, witty, poetic and stunningly
beautiful it will live with me forever" Julian Middleton
