Russell's early work with RHWL was in the hotel and residential sectors, specialising in the concept and planning stages of projects across London. He later moved to Arts Team, where he now heads project teams in the design and site delivery of major new performing arts venues and West End theatres. Russell studied architecture at Cardiff University. He joined RHWL in 2004 on the graduate training programme and went on to win sponsorship for his Part II and Part III studies. He qualified as an architect in 2009.
